About the role
Purpose: To control Draeger’s finances and accounting records in accordance with internal and external regulatory requirements; to manage the UK/Ireland accounting Shared Service to provide an efficient and effective service to Draeger’s businesses in UK and Ireland; to provide accurate and timely reporting to local management and parent company in accordance with Group requirements.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
1. All employees have a responsibility to comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties. (Do not remove)

3. Monthly reporting to parent company in accordance with Group reporting requirements including achieving all required deadlines
4. Manage the shared service accounting team, located at various Draeger UK sites; ensure the team is structured and resourced for maximum efficiency; ensure all team members are well motivated.
5. Propose and implement processes and procedures in the finance function to drive efficiency and maximum value-for-money.
6. Ensure any new controlling / accounting / tax / other finance procedures rolled out by parent company adhere to local requirements and adapt where required, ensuring that everyone is informed
7. Ensure successful implementation of any new external accounting or tax standards and regulations, ensuring that everyone is informed
8. Respond to requests for ad-hoc information and answer queries from Group Controlling / Finance
9. Production of supporting schedules as required to External Auditors at both interim and annual audit
10. Manage submission of returns to external bodies, for example HMRC and ONS.
11. Participate as required in wider UK/Ireland Shared Services organisation
12. Ad-Hoc Reporting and troubleshooting
13. Provide cover and support for Finance Director as appropriate

Size of team/environment - Accounts Shared Service (3 direct reports, whole team around 15 FTE)
Your Qualifications
Role Requirements
Education/Qualifications
Professional Accounting qualification
Degree-level or equivalent preferred
Related Experience
Experience of managing a team (preferably split across different physical locations)
Able to work on own initiative and manage/prioritise workload
Ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
Ability to present complex financial information in an easy-to-understand way to colleagues at all levels
Previous experience within a similar role preferred
Skills, Special Competencies
Advanced Excel
Knowledge of SAP Finance module
Knowledge of current Accounting Standards & Practices
