The Business Development Manager is responsible for the growth and maintenance of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) through the identification, evaluation and development of key client relationships and business opportunities for order generation of relevant products & services. This is a field-based position and can be located anywhere in the United States, however, proximity to the Mid-Atlantic area is preferable.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, define & implement a strategy for Sales growth from high impact markets and target key clients.
  • Identify, assess, target and actively develop relationships with influential contacts at key accounts, including technical and commercial staff and any other identified business influencers to promote Draeger products to foreign militaries.
  • Identify, arrange, attend, and lead, as necessary those presentations (by any means/media) to key accounts to promote Draeger products.
  • Actively introduce key account primary & subordinate relationships to relevant Draeger U.S. and Global personnel.
  • Seek out and identify target client business opportunities and develop, support and track to Order closure to include all phases of Draeger’s internal Foreign Military Sales processes.
  • Effectively utilizes all tools provided such as CRM, e-mail, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software, etc. and maintains accurate, up-to-date records
  • Ensures expenses are controlled and justified within budgetary guidelines.
  • Manages and maintains consignment and demo equipment to ensure accurate record keeping and cost-effective utilization.
  • Maintains company property & equipment in good working order.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical subject from an accredited university or the equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • Two to five years’ experience selling to foreign militaries.
  • Experience in pricing models, including service pricing
  • Experience in solution sales
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • SAP and CRM experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of value selling and a solid understanding of direct marketing tools and how to prospect, qualify leads, build awareness of Draeger products.
  • Knowledge of how to use technology to represent Draeger brand (e.g., webinars, email blasts, blogs, and use of social media)
  • Ability to close sales via the telephone and/or refer the qualified lead to field sales to close the sale
  • Ability to maintain co-operative working relationships internally & externally
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills. 
  • Valid Driver’s License

Draeger has several sites located across North America as well as field-based sales and service positions. Our North America headquarters is located in Telford, PA just north of Philadelphia. We also have US sites in Andover, MA, and Houston, TX. Our Canada site is located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Our field based Sales and Service workforce is located across the nation, caring for relationships with our customers in the delivery of Draeger’s exceptional portfolio of products and solutions.
