We are seeking an experienced technician that performs testing, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, calibrations, modifications and repairs to all Draeger Safety detection and protection products as assigned from a Service Depot Repair Center.  Works from a Draeger Service Depot Repair Center, and serves as a resource to junior technicians and backs up the Manager.

  • This position is remote (not reporting to a Draeger facility)- in the field servicing clientele on site in a given radius. You must live in the area or be willing to relocate.
  • The company provides a vehicle for this role with personal use allowed
  • Responsible for leading others and reviewing the work of peers in the depot to maintain high quality standards, provide timely calibrations, repairs, maintenance and modifications to all Draeger Safety gas detection and respiratory products as assigned from the designated Service Depot Repair Center.  Serves as a key resource for less experienced technicians providing guidance and correction as needed.
  • Complete in timely / accurate fashion all service paperwork and database input to ensure that records are up to date and contain sufficient data to document all work performed utilizing Company provided laptop and or cell phone.  Reviews the paperwork of other technicians.
  • Frequently provides training and/or guidance to new technicians reviewing all the responsibilities of the position. 
  • Promote Customer satisfaction through proactive, professional communication with all Customers. This applies to End Users, Channel Partners, and all Draeger departments and employees. Offer technical assistance and phone support to customers, Draeger sales personnel, distributors, manufacturer reps and authorized service providers as required. 
  • Contribute to service growth by seeking and developing sales/service opportunity leads that promote product sales and rental activities.
  • Compiles and provide information and feedback to Technical Support and Manufacturing for problem identification and resolution leading to product/process improvement.  Provide feedback to junior technicians.
  • Maintain a clean organized safe work area and ensure that all assigned tools and equipment are in good condition with valid calibration (if applicable).
  • Complete relevant training for position including additional Draeger Academy Training above the entry level technician, and above the level II technician.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.  Oversees the depot for short periods of time when the Manager, Repair Center is away.

Your Qualifications

Education:

  • BA, Associate Degree in Electronics or related filed or 8+ years’ experience in a technical field (to replace the education.)

Related Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in an industrial service environment, preferably with analytical instrumentation, with a demonstrated proficiency at performing in-house (shop) repairs.
  • Previous Customer or Field service experience preferred.

  • Work with Stress: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying amounts of individual responsibilities, conflict resolution, redirected priorities, etc.
  • Sitting/Visual Acuity: Time is also spent in meetings and sitting, long periods in front of computer terminal or shop desk in a smoke-free environment
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift equipment which can weigh in excess of 25 pounds.
