The Job Responsibilities

The Clinical Support and Trials Manager-Stimit Endeavor will be an integral member of the Stimit team that creates a new therapy to improve the treatment of critical care patients undergoing mechanical ventilation. Execution of clinical studies, and development of pre-sales support for new product introductions within Draeger’s medical device portfolio, starting with Respiratory Care. This role will be responsible for all facets of clinical acceptance studies, competitive assessment, internal and external training, clinical content for marketing assets, and reference site/key opinion leader development.

This is a unique hands-on role, with equal emphasis on both clinical/technical marketing, as well as operational marketing (products, programs, partnerships).  As product development and market acceptance matures, the clinical development manager will oversee all facets of the product life cycle. This individual will interface with departments across Draeger on global and regional levels, as well as with third party companies, in concert with the Business Development Manager-Stimit Endeavor.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • In tandem with a CRO, responsible for training, supervising, and monitoring clinical trial centers a new therapy device to prevent diaphragm atrophy and dysfunction in mechanically ventilated patients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and customers (ie: Respiratory Therapists, Physicians, Registered Nurses, etc.) to execute the clinical trial and contribute to its success leading to market clearance. This includes understanding of the ICU environment, use of mechanical ventilators, and workflows in critical care units.
  • Contribute to further develop clinical evidence, therapy protocols, and training materials for new/emerging stimulation therapy. Collaborate with the Stimit Clinical Team and business development manager to create recurrent use and maintain attractiveness of new therapy, including access data, content, asset and proof point development to secure technology advancement.
  • Build and maintain close and strong relationships with caregivers in the clinical trial centers and help establish new therapy with a simplified learning curve to enable maximal patient benefit while securing minimal risk. Develop reference sites and key opinion leaders to drive clinical acceptance, create peer-reviewed articles, and development of best-practices.
  • Nurture clinical customer relationships that are sources of product and market innovation in phrenic nerve/diaphragmatic stimulation. Create and leverage training materials and programs to support new therapy to prevent diaphragm atrophy and dysfunction.   
  • Ensure collaboration with Respiratory Device, HCA and Service counterparts.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Your Qualifications


Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care or Nursing or equivalent. Master’s preferred.

Related Experience:

Eight years of related work experience.  Must have experience as:

  • Respiratory Therapist
  • Study Nursing (formal training or several years of experience)
  • Clinical experience in major critical care unit, and profound expertise in mechanical ventilation and acute lung failure therapies.


  • Experience in a CRO
  • Structured thinking, problem solving skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Extensive experience in critical care environment.
  • Experience in research, collaboration with CRO

  • Team spirit and interpersonal capabilities to effectively execute and deliver high quality output through strong presentation and communication skills and the ability to interface with senior executives
