The Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all engineering functions and activities at the Production site, including Industrial, Test and Production Quality Engineering.  Ensures all production processes, tools and test systems are verified and validated to legal and internal requirements and operating at the highest possible efficiency.  Drives Continuous Improvement and Operations excellence initiatives and manages related projects.  Manages all technical aspects of new product introduction and product lifecycle management in Production.
  • Manages Industrial, Test, and Production Quality Engineering functions at the Production site.  Ensures all production processes, tools and test systems are verified and validated to legal and internal requirements and operating at the highest possible efficiency.
  • Manages all technical aspects of new product introduction and product lifecycle management in Production, including development and implementation of new and updated production test systems, tools & equipment, and IT-tools, in compliance with all external regulations and internal procedures.
  • Drives Continuous Improvement and Operations Excellence initiatives and manages related projects, including LEAN, Six Sigma, Draeger Excellence (DEX), etc. Supports and helps enable an organizational culture focused on Operational Excellence.
  • Responsible for maintaining product and process quality and improving related performance metrics in Production.  Ensure continued focus on product & process quality improvement for achieving cost targets.
  • Oversees & manages production-site projects relating to production line changes/transfers, outsourcing,  production line re-layouts, etc.
  • Supports Draeger Process Landscape implementation via local roll-out of processes and tools, measurement systems, metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Responsible for cost center and project budgets; talent acquisition, development and retention through mentoring, coaching, and performance measurement.
  • Approximate number of direct reports-6
  • This position can be hybrid after training in a 4 days in office 1 day remote ratio.
  • Ideal shift is 7am to 3:30pm or 8am- 4pm

Your Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Related Experience:

  • 10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing operations environments, including 5+ years in a management/leadership role required
  • 3+ years in the Medical Device or other regulated industry required, including strong knowledge of FDA GMP/QSR regulations, and ISO standards
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence methodologies required; multi-plant, multi-site experience involving regional & global partnerships strongly preferred
  • Strong technical skills and commensurate leadership experience in production / operations engineering disciplines desired; familiarity with related concepts, good practices, and procedures relating to production and supply chain processes
  • Prior track record of managing regional & multi-site projects around organizational development and change management preferred

Special Competencies or Certifications:

  • Knowledge of current product development & engineering principles, methods & practices; stays current with new and emerging operations technologies and trends
  • Ability and experience to perform on both operational and strategic levels, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Passionate about continuous improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma with demonstrated success in prior projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to senior management; excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Ability to balance and manage competing high-priority work demands
