The Business Development Manager (CIH / CSP) is responsible for developing the Industrial APR portfolio business by utilizing safety consultancy methods and relationships within the Industrial market segment.

He/she will be required to develop strong consultative relationships with a focus on contacts such as safety managers, purchasing managers, turnaround managers, and other stakeholders in the identified operations. The BDM will be the champion for our business development initiatives and work closely with the Regional Sales Manager team in developing and growing business within medium and large-sized prospects.

Reporting to the Division Sales Director, the BDM’s most important means of interacting with customers and prospects through face-to-face meetings. 

  • Independently stays abreast of all safety trends, industry norms, and relevant changes in regulations, products, and processes to be an effective advisor.
  • Will maintain all required certifications and continuing education requirements (see below)
  • Will actively participate in supported technical committees and other organizations that contribute to the development of Safety for the industry. (i.e. American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), National Safety Council (NSC), American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienist (ACGIH.)) Preferred candidates will already be engaged in professional society chapters.
  • Acquires new customers from assigned market segments, and/or a set of names prospects.

Your Qualifications

Related Experience

  • Experience in creating/administering Respiratory Protection Programs for industrial applications (for example F&B, Agriculture, Construction, Pharmaceutical, General Manufacturing, Chemical Plants etc.)
  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience in Industrial Hygiene or Safety experience
  • Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability


  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Safety/Industrial Hygiene or a degree in a closely related technical discipline (e.g. industrial engineering, occupational health and safety, etc.) with comprehensive certified training and extensive experience can be considered the equivalent.

Special Competencies or Certifications:

  • CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) equivalent certification. Years of experience will not substitute for formal certification.

Due to the nature of this position, qualified candidates will be required to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.  Proof of vaccination will be required as part of the onboarding process. You may be required to carry your vaccination card when on-site at client customers.
